Default Suspension upgrades?

I ran at MIR yesterday, and my car did extremely well. I hit a new best.

60ft 1.59
1/8 7.53@90.02
1/4 11.87@113.55

The only mods done to the car are FLP Longtube headers, Whisper Lid, HPP3 Tuning for shift points and rev limiter, Maf ends, YST3500, and a set of 17in BFG DR's. I only removed the back seats, spare tire, jack , and front swaybar.
Will I screw up my current setup by upgrading the suspension? I was looking at the HAL shocks and a Torque arm that will attach to the chasis.

Very impressive times for not listing any suspension mods. No, in my humble opinion you will not mess up your current mods if you upgrade your suspension. I went with Metco lower control arms with the lower brackets to prevent wheel hop. I also have Hal shocks on front and back. I had to go with Hals on my car when I got a 3200 vig. With the Hals, it was the only way I got any traction. But I also use Nitto's which is not as good as slicks. I believe you can increase your ET times a little with the Hals and Hal front drag springs. I also have a random technology torque arm to set opinion angle. Most people set it negative 2 or 3. Since you are running in the eleven's, you may want to consider getting SFC's--I have G2's. When I hooked good, I run in the eleven's to, but I am still using Nitto's. My fastest 60' time so far is 1.630 which is not the best I know. I also have a new H/C on my car for a best of 11.72----when I run a 1.58 60' with a slick one day----it will be better I believe. Anyway I was trying to help you. Check around with your friends and compare. Best wishes.

How do you like the Metco LCA's. I haven't done the install yet. You have them on the lower hole, is that right?

Thanks Kent, No I have no mods done to the suspension. Thats why I was asking if I start to mess with it, will I screw up my 60ft's and go higher. It ran consistant 1.6x passes all day. I made 22 passes with the worst being a 1.76. I think I will check into the subframe connectors. I will go with the shocks, at least I know they can be adjusted to get me near the same setting I have now, and possibly improve.

Silverbullet I really like the lower control arms. I got the idea from reading about the Son of Sam Camaro. As a matter of fact, I patterned my car after his. Anyway, it has been a year or so since I install the control arms. I even looked under the car and could not see which hole I used. It appears I used the upper holes when I install mine. Take your wheel off and you will plenty of room to install the lower control arm. Unhook the shock and slide out of the way and you can figure out how it fastens up to everything. After install of the arms, I no longer had any wheel hop on a quick takeoff. I wish I could be more detail, but I am not a good explainer. I also put a heavier panhard deal on the rear axle. I hope I helped. Kent.

Hal shocks , anti-squat brackets, and boxed LCAs.
