Weight reduction list for the daily driver...

Re: Weight reduction list for the daily driver...
I heard its loud and all you can hear is road noise unless you have a loud exhaust system... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Doesn't seem worth the 15 pounds...how much do the corbeaus weigh?

Wait a minute... you remove the rear swaybar? but won't think of removing the bumper support. Sounds like a conflict to me.
What do you think you gained by removing the rear swaybar?

Re: Weight reduction list for the daily driver...
Key here is daily driver:
Here's what I would do.
1) If you have cd-changer ditch it.
2) Dynabatt battery
3) High flow lightweight cats
4) Light weight catback installed where it can easily be removed at the track (30-50 lb weight reduction!)
5) Light weight carpet...use stock sound deadener.
6) Light weight fiberglass hood (using stock fasteners...note not talking suncoast/ascd etc..those ARE HEAVY!)
7) Aftermarket mild steel k-member/arms
8) light wheels
9) get use to removing sway-bar prior to track ( easy after you do it a time or two )
10) Light weight seats
Things I would avoid:
1) removal of air/egr/cats especially if you have to get sniffed for inspection.
2) removal of sound deadener in daily driver or use of short exhaust ( dumping under passenger compartment )
3) absolutely wouldn't pull bumper supports /doorbars in a daily driver.
