Fuel choice OK so getting ready to start a new motor build was thinking about going to a better fuel then pump have a few questions
how much fuel do u go through when u are at the track? I know it all depends just looking for an average of what to expect
what are some fuel options e85,race fuel, alcohol.
basically I want to build a drag car that I can afford to actually drive

Round trip on an 8.50 pass I burn about 1-1/2 gallons of e85, when I run closer to 10.0 I burn around a gallon of e85, but my car is fairly light at around 2700lbs
E85 is at the station on the way to track and is at 3.00 gallon here
On that note I'd burn less 116 that is local, but it's 15.00 gallon so I'm sticking with e85, that I was mixing down to e60 with 92 pimp gas

We usually use 1-1.25 gal of Q16 per 1/8th mile pass. 1/4 mile racing is usually 1.5-1.75 gallon, comes down to idle time and stuff like that.
Before starting a build, I'd talk to the builder and get a rough idea on what they recommend. Then changing the fuel could come later if there's not enough octane available to keep it safe in the tuneup.
