Push/pull bar
Push/pull bar Just curious to see how some guys set up a push/pull bar to tow there car around at the track? I do have a chute mount and thinking of using it to push the car. Any one got some pics of there setups?
I did a push setup, put a longer bolt in the chute strap and drilled a hole for a quick release pin. Made the rod for my golf cart collapseable, 2 pcs of tubing that slide together, so I can extend it for pushing car and shrink it down for loading cart at track. Works mint
I've done both and pushing is sooo much better. I welded a sleeve on my chute mount and i just have a 5 ft piece of 1-1/4" chromoly bar with rod ends on it with a quick release pin at both ends. Push with a golf cart.

If you want to do it on a budget, get a pair of chassis tabs.. drill a couple holes that'll fit the quick pin through it, and space them enough apart to get the heim joint in there and weld it to the parachute mount; that side is done. Do the same for the golf cart/push car side.
For the actual bar, just some mild tube with a pair of heims, a pair of tubing ends that the heim's can thread into and call it done. find a good way to attach it to the roof of the golf cart and you're done.
Buy a couple extra heims for when you bend them.. takes a little practice pulling the car backwards.. and you'll bend a couple. ask me how I know..
