Wobble under hard acceleration - HELP!!
#22
About the only thing you can do if you want to keep the shocks you have, is to move the mounts closer together. But I would start with an arb. And a 4 wheel alignment. Then if you have to. Move the mounts.

Just for a recap. I swapped out the Trac Loc to a Tru Trac and it did not help the issue at all. That shot the overpowering the rear diff theory to hell.
I then moved to the not enough shock extension theory. I created new brackets to move the lower mounting point of the shock up, thus allowing me to remove some of the preload that i had on the car to maintain the same ride height. This seemed to have worked. I have done a few quick pulls on the highway with no wobble what so ever.
Im hoping to hit a test and tune and another event this coming weekend. I suppose i will know if its 100% fixed or if the issue is just hanging around.
Thanks for the help guys.

For the top mount, the strut itself is threaded and the rod goes up through and bolts to a "hat" on the top. That "hat" then uses two bolts to fasten it to the car. The hat itself does have some bushing material built into it.

150# springs in the rear.
This was my thoughts as well. I pulled it out, checked the clutches and all of them look brand new. Barely any wear on them at all, dont look like they got hot or anything. However, i figure i may be just over powering it. I purchased a Tru Trac to go in it. When it arrives i will get it all together and see if it helped the issue any or if i/we were all wrong in thinking rear end.

Tru trac is the biggest piece of **** ever made. Spool it and be done with it.
