!Spare tire/jack, !front sway bar, Weld ProStars, !Rear Seat, !Floor Mats, !WW reservoir and a few CM suspension pieces and I'm @ 3290 with 1/4 tank of gas.

ABS Delete: 10
Bumper supports F+R: 40
9.5" converter: 15
Cruise delete: 5
Power seat delete: 10
Lightweight battery: 20
Spare tire delete: 20
Monsoon delete: 20
K Member: 30
Front swaybar delete: 15
Midwest rear bar: 5
Front fender cut: 5
Lightweight carpet: 20
Driver airbag delete: 5
Total: 220 lost
Since I've done:
AC Compressor/bracket: 20
Sway bar brackets: 5
AC fan delete: 5
Lower radiator support cut: 5
Catback delete: 30
Misc bucket of brackets: 35
Spool: 20
Condensor and evap: 5
Coilovers: 10
Spare tire well delete: 10
Upper panhard delete: 5
Total so far: 150
Total 370 lbs.

Basically, what the radiator sits on is a huge and overbuilt lower support. Its spans all the way across from frame rail to frame rail. The radiator itself has two downfacing mounting pins at each end. I went just inside the ends and chopped out the center. The ends hanging off the frame are plenty strong enough to hold the radiator up.....It also protects the lower radiator from road debris since its between it and the road, so I added some flat aluminum bar in its place after i cut it out. Should be pics in my thread.
How hard is it to get behind the dash ? I have a hard top if it matters but I'm guessing I can get another 40lbs from behind there and then I'm slowly running out of things. I can't wait till my pin on hood comes in seeing I have removed my stock and all brackets that go with it.
Yeah I went back and looked there was 300+ pounds I added up of stuff i removed personally, then Ive done strange brakes and lexan F+R for another 125 pounds for those alone. Camaros generally weigh 34xx and being an SS I already have a glass hood not steel. I think the scale was accurate. I am also factoring a manual brake conversion, delete door bars, and remove firewall insulation which arent removed yet but will be soon. Here's my post with my actual measured weight savings upon removal. These weights listed are weights savings over stock (if replaced with a lighter part) or component weight when removed. I weighed all stock parts and compared. Example: stock battery was 35, new was 15, I listed it as a 20 pounds savings....NOT a 20 pound battery.

I don't know if this helps or not but my car weighed 3,085 last Friday on the race track scales empty with half tank of gas. 1998 z/28 hardtop. Again, stripped interior with only one cloth power seat and console. deleted pass airbag, air, egr, abs, hvac, front sway bar. Stock z/28 wheels, stock exhaust manifolds and cats, coilovers all around. If the scale is right (no pride of authorship here), I'm confident I could get to 3,050 with 1/8th tank of gas, no nitrous system and deleting misc stuff like seatbelt brackets.
I think 3,050 is easily attainable before any $$$$ modifications, maybe 3,000 with headers, no cats and bullets.

You would be surprised if you weighed your factory ss hood compared to a stock steel flat hood. That SS hood is heavy it's not fiberglass if it's a factory hood. They weigh the same if not more than a steel flat hood. You could lose some more weight their and still keep your stock look.
I painted them because I didn't want to wait on a powder coater to do them. After having them in now and getting belts adjusted, climbing in and out a few times I'm positive that the paint or powder coat won't hold up to the buckles slamming into them. I'm going to look into some of the newer bed liner sprays. I know I've seen some that had a fairly glossy finish and that should hold up better in the long run. But the gloss black does look pretty good if I do say sap myself.
I have them, just don't care for them. If you look I went with intermediate oval seats instead of the pro or econo. And the covers still leave a lot of exposed aluminum so even if the plan was to run the cover they'd still be painted. If you can't be fast at least it can look good right?
