Default The O.F. rides again ...

I finally got things pretty much done after the H&C swap (and cage and diet) and got to the track. I only got two passes before eliminations, so haven't got things sorted out very well yet. The suggestions from here last fall have helped a bunch! The slicks are probably the biggest help - 10x28 Hoosiers. I had trouble bogging at 12 PSI, but broke out with 11.47 on the best pass. Seems like it is laying down in fourth though - 7.28 1/8 on the 11.47. MPH was poor on that one as I pulled it out of third getting anxious while I was running down the other guy, so I ended up short shifting fourth. My brother says it belches black when I shift, but I couldn't get the PCM to read the wbo2 through the left rear O2 connector so I pulled a plug when I got home and it is black with soot (I trailered it so nothing would break . Got to get rear shox too as it hops on launch. I still have a lot of work to do if I want to run with the Big Dawgs in FS

The upside is I had a blast. Last fall, with it bolt on, was the first time in 25 years or so, and this is the first time with a lumpy idle in that long. It is a kick to see the heads turn as this O.F. idles by in a stuttering, stumbling, obvious street car. Couple people wanted to know how I made it that fast Not many fast F-Bodies at Oceola. This guy next to me in line had a gutted Fairlane with Thunderbolt hood and wondered why I was dialed in 0.6 below him ...

Anyway, thanx for the help last fall - it has paid off.

Carl,

Congrats on the performance and making it back to the track.

Now, get out to the track for some test/tune. Practice is the key to be a good bracket racer.

I need to the the wbo2 going and then out Fri for test/tune. I dunno if I can ever compete with the good bracket racers I was in the 500s all three runs, but one guy cut a .505 against me ...
