Default th350 burnout box ?'s

with th350 and 3500 stall converter, i do like a 8 second burnout in the box. the tires break loose at about 3800, and if its in drive or 2nd it will hit second then first then second then back to first, so on. it wont stay in second in the burnout. also in that 8 second burnout the engine temp goes from 200 to 230 in 8 SECONDS................WHAT GIVES

Keep the selector in "1" during the burnout. You don't have enough power to pull 2nd during the burnout.

Try a 160 degree thermostat and lowered fan settings. Make sure you don't have any air in the system. You should also monitor your tranny temps. VERY important.

not enough power to pull second??? I dynoed 458 hp and 512 ft/lbs torque.....how much do you need to do second? i just dont want to burn up the trans or the motor. Still dont understand why the motor heats up 30 degress in 8 seconds.

I start in first and shift to second and then third at about 5000 rpm. I then hold about 5500 in third until I see decent smoke from the tires and then release my line lock. You are probably not turning the tires fast enough causing them to grab and pull down the motor during the burn out.
You are also running your car kind of hot to make best power. I try to stage at about 140-150 for each pass.
