Default What size slick do I need?

Well, Im going to go for some wicked times. I have a set of stock 16" wheels that I can use. They are the 5 spoke Z28 wheels that are 16 x 8.

My car is lowered 1.5" so they can't rub. My car makes 434rwhp/418rwtq on motor and 586rwhp/619rwtq on spray. I have a Moser 12 bolt with 3.73 gears. Want to make sure I get the best tire possible for the car. Its also a 6 speed and I have Spec Stage 3 clutch.

Thanks a lot! The big day is July 10th.

Also, where is the cheapest place to get the tires? How many passes should I be able to make?

Should I get a full slick or a DOT one? Thanks again!

if you want to hook on a lowered suspension and that much tq on spray, you are going to have to go with a big tire on your MN6 car. i would personally try to get 15" drag wheels, but if you cant then i would try a 27" QTP tire - almost positive they make them in 16" rim sizes. otherwise, go with a 26x11.50 et drag.

also i think you mean july 10th. if june 10, 2005, we have LOTS of time to get you figured out

sounds to me like you are going to need a 15" rim, you will need that extra sidewall. I don't think you will hook a 16" tire, certainly not on spray.

with 3.73 gears a bit 28" tire will most likely be too much tire, even on spray. I would suggest going with a 15" rim and something like a 27" tire, should be a happy medium between a motor and spray setup, it may not be optimal for either, but would prolly allow you to run pretty well without or without spray.

Yup, it is July 10th. I posted that pretty late at night, so I wasn't wide awake.

Anyways, I can't get a 15" wheel to work since I have a Wilwood front & rear brake setup. They won't fit over the brakes. So, Im stuck with a 16". Someone recommended a 28 x 10.5 x 16. Would that extra inch help out?

I won't be spraying out of the hole, it will most likely be after the 60'. But, Im planning on heating them up good and launching like a SOB. My friend told me that the best I would probably cut is a 1.75-1.8 60' time. With ET's I was expecting in the 1.5-1.6 range. But, he said I would need a better drag suspension to get those times. Oh well, anything is better then the 2.1-2.3 times I've been running.. lol.
