Memphis Results & Shifting Problems Resolved
I'm sure lots of you read that a group of us from Thunder Racing attended the f-body.org's event this past weekend in Memphis. We had a great time and got to put lots of faces with names we've been talking to over the years
After playing around with my launch for several runs, I have finally figured out that my car with the TP4600 likes to launch b/t 3200-3300 rpm. Once I got this down (well, sorta) I was able to get the car 60 footing in the low 1.5's and even cut one 1.48. My car was consistently pulling and carrying both wheels on every good launch. The one thing that has plagued this car (almost since it was new) has been the shifting. Even with the new FLP transmission, I was having some serious lagging between shifts which I feel was hurting my ET's. Well, it seems like with some additional computer tuning, Geoff has gotten that worked out and the car shifted great! The end result was several 11.14 and 11.15 passes, and one 11.12. The 60's on these runs were 1.54 - 1.50. My previous best in the car was 11.05 @ 122.4 (1.50 60')on a very cold February night with a DA of -1500. I'm not sure what the DA was this weekend, but the temps were in the 90's at the track, most of the time we had a pretty good headwind, and barometer was in the 29.6 range (a lot lower than when I ran the 11.05) I'm really happy with the car and hopefully we'll get to the track again soon so I can get that launch down
I'd really like to see my car squeak out some high 10's with the small cam (TR 220/220 114 and CNC heads) before we try a different setup.

She not only won the sticky tire class, but beat out the other class winners to win the overall. As I was standing on the side of the track watching her race, I kept hearing guys next to me say "That girl can cut down the tree!" She took home two nice trophy's with a big cheezy grin

Angie that is a very fast car and Thunderracing has done a very good job performance wise. I sure in no time you will have that 10 second slip. Cheers.

Congrats Angie, sounds like it was a good time. Very nice times from such a conservarive setup and the warm weather.

A TH350 or TH400 would solve those shifting woes for good
You'll have that thing in the 10's soon enough, though. All you need now is some decent weather at the right track!
