Default Shocks for the front that don't slam down

Anybody with QA1 shocks feel that they extend nice but slam hard coming down?
is there a shock with adjustment for the downward stroke?
Street friendly would be even better too!

The QA1 "R" series have a fixed firm compression and the rebound is 12-way adjustable

What front springs are you running? I've heard it's actually the hal springs and not the shocks that cause the nose diving. I want to cut my stock spring perch off my stock shocks and put them on my hals so I can use my stock front springs.

The QA1's arent a drag type shock, so they might go up fast, but come down fast as well

Get a set of Competition Engineering 3-way adjustable fronts/rears (about $40 each).

You can set them to 90/10 in the front (or 80/20) for racing, and turn back for street driving, and 50/50 in the rear

QA1 R series here. Front comes off the ground and lands VERY nicely. no bouncing at all. No nose diving when I'm on the brakes either. I'm running V6 springs up front.

i want to switch to the R series. we have them on my friends car and they work great, my front bounces bad when the front wheels land with the standard hals right now.

comp engineering are good budget shocks but you have ot remove them from the car to adjust them, which is a total pain in the ***.

they do not make them for the front of our cars either. there is no 3 way or even plain old 90/10 shock in existence for the front of our cars, the fancy fronts are the only options.

How do they ride on the street if you have done it?
I understand they are a great shock for landing.
What about the springs - will the QA1 R fit a stock spring?thanks

How does the weight of the QA1's struts/springs compare to stock struts and springs?

QA1 R's with hal springs are 3.5lbs lighter than stock per side. You end up saving a total of 7lbs...

That's a pretty good weight savings not to mention better lift at launch. I better get me some of them.

The QA1 will work with the stock springs. You just have to modify the spring perches. All you have to do is enlarge the inner whole slightly to fit over the QA1 shock body. With the stock springs and QA1 shocks you can run the shocks on 1 and it will not bounce or come down hard.

OK - excuse my ignorance, but set on 1 - is that the setting for easy stretch for launching?

Afcos are two way adjustable. Jay Billingsley Racing (a sponsor here) sells them.
