Default Which Drag Shocks?

Looking for the potential for 1.3's. Which drag shocks are people using while achieving 60's like this? I know some are using HALs. I worry about the realiability of them since I have heard about quite a few of them blowing out. I want something reliable at that price that works. How about the Strange drag shocks which are double adjustable? Afco's are out of my price range unless I thought these 60's couldn't be done without them. Looking for lots of opinions from experince here on the 8, 9, 10 second cars here. Thanks.

We sell quite a few of both. Without a doubt, the Afco's are the best bolt-on shocks on the market. With the help of Strange, we developed the "Silver Series" shocks to fill the void between the less expensive Qa1's and the high line Afco's. The Strange shocks allow the same double adjustable dampening as the Afco's, but at a more attractive price. As long as you know which direction you need to go when suspension tuning, either shock will do the job well. FWIW, we have both sets in stock.

Hope this helps.

I have Hal's, if I had to do it over again I'd buy AFCOs.
I have no problems with the Qa1's,the suspension works really well,
but not everybody is that lucky.

By the website , it looks like the Strange rear are double adjustable but the front are single.
Please describe the funtion and potential useage of the fronts on the street as well as strip.
My goal is nearly as good handling as my 25,000 mile old factory shocks but ability to adjust extension allowing fast stretch for launch yet a smooth drop avoiding a crash landing.
thank you
If the answers are favorable I'll be dropping some coin your way
I have KYB adjustables on the rear but have not driven them yet.

The single adjustable front shock employs a fixed, velocity sensitive compression setting. This means that the faster the shock travel, the stiffer the dampening. When combined with the proper spring rate, the double adjustable feature is not necessary. The adjustment can still be made to the rebound to tune the seperation rate, but the compression rate will somewhat "adjust" itself. If you prefer, however, we can use a double adjustable front shock similar to the Afco's that we also carry. As for street use, as long as the shock is stiffened off the track, they work well.

Hope this help!
