Torque converter recomendation Please give my your input, and why you chose it for this question on a torque converter. My car is a 98 C5 with 4.10 gears and H/C. The car dynos 424 rwhp and 390 rwtq thru the exhaust, but it produces it's max torque at 4800 rpm. What would your choice of stall speed be for this car ?

Re: Torque converter recomendation I have a 3200 vig. which is very streetable and respectable at the track. Most of the faster cars who go for max at the track generally have convertor in the 4400 range. I guess you have to determine your needs and goals with the convertor. Cheers.

I am testing a Vig 4200 now and will try a TP4400 down the road.I had a UT4600 but its too big for even my setup..
If u run a Vig I would add a LU Switch and lock the verter at 5800 to 6200 in 3rd.

Re: Torque converter recomendation Yank's Pro Thruster 4400 would work VERY WELL with your setup. The 60' times out of your car would be sick considering the weight, gearing, and hard hit of this converter. It would be plenty streetable, IMO, with the 4.10 gearing. I'm running the same converter in my SS with 3.73's and a heavier car. Yes, it's a loose converter but nothing that will be too bad. Just wait until you bolt up a set of tires and collect your first timeslip. You'll be grinning for the rest of the day. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
