Default Weekend Race Results

1st let me say, we had a great time racing this weekend. Man, was it hot. I lost 5 lbs on Sat. and 7 lbs yesterday. I know great weight reduction.

Here we go: On Saturday. I ran Mod and Top Et.

Top Et: round #1, I red lighted with a .489 and ran 4 over my dial in. It was not my day in this class.

Mod: I had great lights all day long(.50's to .520's) I lost in round #5. I lifted to soon.
I killed the guy on the tree, .518 to his .578 I went around him at the top end, lifted and went "oh sh$t got back in it and lost by .003. One round away from the money round. Oh well thats drag racing.

Sunday I ran Mod and Top Et again.

Top Et: Round #1 I raced a S/C dragster. He dailed in a 5.14. I dailed a 7.25. We both cut .510 lights. I ran 2 over and he ran right on his 5.14. I lost by .0366 I did learn that I do not need to run Top Et until I have a powerglide and a delay box. They just hit the tree to well and run right on there dial in.

Mod: I lost in round #3. I cut a good light .529 to his .584 I dialed a 7.28. broke out with a 7.25. (Can you say it is time to buy a weather station). I knew the Hot Rod was going to run well in this race but it was still very hot and didn't think it would pick up that much. Oh well thats drag racing.

It is still very cool it have all the people come check out the Thunder Racing Hot Rod and whip up on all the auto trans cars. I was the only manual shifted car at the track this weekend, pretty much every weekend.

We are tring to figure out were we are going to race this weekend. Saturday we will race at RCR in Marion, Tx. or we will race at Lonestar Raceway Park in Sealy Tx. Sunday we will back at TAD trying to make up some track points.

It sounds like you had your hands full all weekend. I agree that Top ET is a major cut-throat class. Just throw in 'glide with a crossover delay and a brake, and be done with it. Can you imagine how much quicker the car would go w/ a 'glide? I think you'll be happy w/ the same weather station I have. It needs three solid runs entered before it will really predict accurately (within .01), but you should get those in time trials.

I wish I could join you at TAD this next Sunday for some racing again, but I'm taking a little time off to go to the lake. I'm sure I'll find a track the weekend after next, though.

Mike: Yes, it was damn HOT but atleast it wasn't raining and I got to race alot, from Thursday to Sunday I made 32 passes in the Hot Rod.

Trevor: The glide, brake and delay box, Iam thinking about it alot. I sure do like beating the glide cars with the 6 speed. Pulling gears does take a little talent. I am going to order the weather station this week. I think it will help out. Yours did pretty well at Ennis on Thursday. Sunday the 21st at TAD we are running for a $1,000.00 to win footbrake. Maybe you can make it down for that one.
