Cool 84 Regal with 6.0

Need a little help, what am I missing? This is what I'm working with. 84 Regal back halved with 4 link. 9" with 5.38 gear. 32 x 14 tires. Drag race only. Car weights 2740. 6.0 bored .030. 243 heads milled .030 with some port work. Cam is 247/255 .624 lift 110 LSA. 750 alcohol carburetor. Holley black pump, holds 6.5 to 7 pounds. I've tried no spacer, 1" and 2 " spacers. MSD 6014 box. Car has been on dyno for tuning. Made 590 ft lb of torque. Changed timing around not much difference between 26 and 32 degrees on dyno. No map sensor. Car hooks and comes off line like a beast. But 60 foot times suck. 1st pass off trailer car runs 6.30 with 1.45 60 foot. ( 60 ft times should be quicker). Try to be around 160-170 on temp. But after that 60 foot goes to 1.60 and ET goes anywhere from 6.50 to 6.75, all over the place. Transmission is a powerglide with 5500 stall. Thought transmission may be slipping so I changed out transmission. Still the same. Leave on 2 step at 4000 and shift at 6800. So what part of this combo do I have wrong?

Same converter in both transmissions ?
First thing that comes to mind.

More info on motor and trans.

Agree, this thing should scoot better.

Doug, 2 different glides and converters. That's the first thing I was thinking converter messing up or trans slipping. Both 5500 stall. Same problem. Carried the first 1 to PTC about 3 weeks ago and they checked it and said nothing wrong. 5500 stall is what they say for the combo that I have. I've checked fuel system and all electrical, 6014 box and MSD coils and wires. Grounds everywhere. Car hooks and leaves hard. I've tried different rpms on 2 step and shift points. I've had car on dyno for tuning. Doesn't give true horsepower but made 590 ft lb of torque. Was still pulling hard at 7400 rpm. I've had some to tell me that tires are to big but 1st run off trailer the car runs around 6.30 in the 1/8 and ET and 60ft are slower after that, everything heated up prior to making run. Motor is fresh maybe 35 passes on it. What else have I left out about motor? Let me know and I'll supply what info I have. Everything that I have checked is good. I'm at a loss.

Have you logged at the strip ?
Where do you shift ?
Anything different from Dyno to strip ?

I keep going back to the trans... but 2 ….can't be both.

Head scratcher for sure.

Ive had this same issue before with my monte carlo. Aftermarket nose and hood sealed up against the windshield. It was the heat under the hood that would make it fall off. Not coolant temp. remove the hood and see what it does.

Is the suspension unloading itself after launch? You said it was coming off the line hard. I’d have someone slow mo video record several of your launches so you can take a good look at what the car is doing. Any smartphone should be good enough. With that much power, tire, and lightweight your 60’ should be lower. You got the power and car setup, now is the fun part of dialing it in!
