The plate design for the LS1 Motorplate is finished! Got it on the car and tweaked out earlier this morning...let's just say Mr. Brian Jefferies believes in the power of Computer Aided Design now!
We are proud to say that the LS1 plate is done and ready to get the 1st run made. We're going to be making a run of 10 the 1st time unless we have enough presold to run off more. Both Brian and I have gotten a few emails from interested parties so we don't anticipate this 1st batch being around long.
The Plate will be made out of 3/16" Aluminum plate and CNC'd for exact fit every time. The plate will come with an installation kit consisting of 4 standoffs that need to be welded to the front frame rails after the motorplate has been installed on the motor and is just resting in place.
Benefits of the plate are increased frame and motor rigidity, more access to the sides of the motor, the ability to run LARGE primary headers and the plate makes putting a turbo package on the car soo much easier.
The following pics show the LS1/LT1 plates, and the LS1 Solid Mounts, and then a close up of the LS1 MOCKUP plate (PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YES I DIDN'T TAKE THE TIME TO BE PERFECT WHEN CUTTING THE CARDBOARD I JUST WANTED TO GET A PICTURE FOR YOU GUYS TO SEE)....
Also, right now these plates are priced at 150.00..forgot to say that the 1st time round..
LS1-LT1 Motorplate and LS1 Solid Mounts
Mock-up Plate...yes I failed Scissor training..
Again Email Brian themadman69@swbell.net or me at josey@thongracing.com if you need anything answered.

The alternator still bolts to it's normal position....man I knew I should've just kept cutting...there are 3 bolt holes that aren't cut out of the card board on the right hand side cause I was tired of trying to cut circles in the cardboard.
This motorplate just like the LT1 motorplate make the use of normal motormounts not necessary.
There is an LT1 in the Shop with a motorplate on it and I will get pictures of it and upload so you guys can see exactly what it's supposed to look like.....*Slaps self for not doing this 5 days ago!!*
Ahh well...trust me the LT1 guys LOVE these things..I believe you guys will too.

simply put:
a motor plate REPLACES motor mounts
it mounts the motor to the frame differently and more solidy.

Here is a picture of an LT1 with a Motorplate installed. As you can see by the design the block integrity and chassis rigidity are greatly strengthened.
LT1 Motorplate Picture
In this next picture you can see that there are no motor mounts and that the room on the side of the motor is increased. Another plus about running the motorplate is that you don't have to worry about destroying that new Tubular K-Member you just installed.
No motormount picture
If'n there's anything else I can help ya with lemme know.
PS. The original images are reduced in size also...
