Re: Playback Tach?
I run one. Autometer ultimate playback.
Don't screw with guessing where your shifting at, or how much the rpms drop on the shift...or screw with trying to interpret an ATAP log to get it.
Real simple...record, and then playback. Mine will run back through the run...full or half speed, it stops at all the rpm peaks , and valleys, and gives a digital readout of the exact rpm along with the swing of the tack pointer. You know exactly how fast, consistent or inconsistent your shifting off your light. Also you just program where you want the shiftlight to to come on...I have mine different for each shift. First comes kind of fast, so I set it a little lower. I don't have those mad shiften skills . I really should change my forum description to "rev limiter tester" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Anyways...I like mine

Re: Playback Tach?
I just ordered 2 of the playback tachs. It looks It comes with Drive shaft sensor so you can monitor drivetrain slippage. It will really help with the convertor set up. The offered a drive shaft sleeve so you would not have to install the magnets on the u joint caps. I figure I gave up $600 per tach that was enough.
