Clutch info needed???

Clutch info needed??? Went to the track Friday night and after reading and hearing about using 2nd gear (M6 TA) to 'clean the tires' (Using 285/17/40 BFG's....Need to educate on MT ET's or Nittos, etc...but thats another question <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> ) I tried it....The only problem was, when I went to pop the clutch to dust'em I did not let out the clutch fast enough and the nice RPM climb I had was not felt in a buckin' rear end. The smoke cloud passed me as I staged and I knew then it was not tire I was smellin <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> .... She actually took off pretty good with a 2.1 60ft time but on the 1-2 shift I had nothin when I released the clutch!! No gear there and I knew I was IN gear! A quick out of gear and back in set things straight and there were no more problems during that run....but the clutch smelled bad for the next couple hours.....!! It worked fine for the rest of the night but being somewhat new to it all (only been to the track 3 times in the last 2 years...but I'm HOOKED!) I was wondering just exactly what I did and what effect will it have on my clutches operation now???

Re: Clutch info needed??? I have smoked mine alot, and it still works, I just can't power shift any more.
That is all over now though. I just got done ordering my Mcloud twin disk clutch with adjustable master cylender.
Next is the Harlan shift light, and two step, then the Hurst line lock.
What you do in 2nd gear is tach it up to 4000 rpm, then dump the clutch, then just hold your rpms at about 5-6000 untill you are satisfied.
