Default New to DR's and need some help.

I just mounted 275/35/18 BFG TA DR's on my 99 Corvette (M6 tranny). I went to the track Sunday at a low turn out event (30 cars) and the results were not what I expected. My best 60' was still a 2.0 and some more. During my first run I went into the water box and warmed up the tires until smoke passed the front end, about 10 seconds. Then lined up, tached to about 4K and dumped the clutch. The results were a 13.000@108.77 with a 60' of 2.015. I was expecting more from the tires. The only saving grace that I may have is that the Z06's were running 12.85's and a Viper ran a best of 12.73. Help please...

Set the tire psi around 18-20 psi. Avoid water box if possible, water gets into the treads and trickles down while you are staging, causing a puddle to form under your tires.

No heavy burnouts required on drag radials, just a good peel out up to the line.

They are basically softer compound street tires, and they tend to hook a little better after several passes to break them in.

They aren't really good for dumping the clutch, just treat them like you are driving on regular radials and slip the clutch out instead.
