Does any one Bracket Race on this site? Well, You know that I will be bracket racing this weekend. Saturday night at Lone Star Raceway Park in Sealy, Texas and TAD in Little River, Texas on Sunday.
What about you guys? Do any of you boys bracket race or do you just go out and make two passes and call it a day? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
I wish more on this site would bracket race there Hot Rods. These LS1's are bad to the bone. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Re: Does any one Bracket Race on this site? Not an LS1, and I haven't bracket raced much lately (used to do it all the time)...I do, however, participate in heads-up class-racing on a regular basis. The MMRA Heads-up index racing will be fun to try next weekend. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I do. And so does a friend of mine that post on here.
by the name of NastySS00 we race just about every event we can. He's just alot better at it than I am.
But Ive been bracket racing every car Ive had since I was 18. Matter a fact tonight at test and tune.
I hit 2 12.07'and a 12.05 on a 12.0 dial in.
with a .507 and a .504 r/t which got me 2 free trips to the track.
by the way we are both 6spd's

Re: Does any one Bracket Race on this site? Yeah, I do sometimes. My car is consistant, but I need a little more practice on the tree. I can usually cut .5xx lights, but need to be consistantly below .550 to be competitive.
IMO it's a lot more fun than just test and tune. Some guys around here are real good .50x usually <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />

I'll probably run in the Pro class (cut off is 10.00) but I MAY need to run in the Super Pro class <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> The Super Pro class is tough because electronics are allowed and I have none yet.

Re: Does any one Bracket Race on this site? I do every weekend in the Pro Bracket class(7.50-13.99) and for our car club at the club races. In the car club races I am 2nd overall out of about 200 or so drivers, and our club (Team NW F-Body)is first, in Pro Bracket, I am in 47th out of 120, and I missed the first race. This is my first year racing, but I love it.

Last year I was 2nd in points in the street stock program and this year I moved up to Modified ET - JACKPOT program since I ran out of space to put trophys. I always have room for Cash <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" /> In fact my name is all over the weekly results page http://www.lonestarraceway.com/Weekl...y_results.html most recently as the modified Jackpot Winner from August 9th.
Do you race with the Houston F-bodys during the CCB? Do you ever go out to LSR on Friday nights?

this year our dumb *** track is only running once or twice a month. I was in 2nd in the Mod ET ($$) than the clutch and tranny crapped out on me. I am back now. From 2nd to 9th. 100 points out of 1st to 1400 <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" /> Oh well. Half of it is for fun anyway - but the $$ is nice.

Re: Does any one Bracket Race on this site? I've been drag racing since I was 16 (9 years). I started running for points when I was 18, and I took the leap into super pro with my '67 Chevy II when I was 19. I really put my all into running points '97-'00, but I slacked off after I graduated from college. At this point, I'm not too big on running for points. When I want to race, I just check my various "local" tracks and see which one is paying the most for non-electronics. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Unless it's a special event like SLP customer appreciation day, like tomorrow at the Motorplex, then I will only go out to win some money. Those test and tunes, street nights, etc. are for the birds, IMO, unless you're trying a new setup. I LOVE the competition!

Maybe one day I'll be able to switch my work schedule to more of a regular 40 hr work week, and be able to do some more racing. Just not in the cards right now. Good luck with your racing though Coach!

Last night at Lone Star Raceway Park, it wasn't my night. Red lighted in round #1 with a .443. The Hot Rod started to roll in the lights, I stopped her but was in to deep to cut a good light. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />
I bought back in. #2 round I was trying to keep her from rolling and cut a .556 light and ran a 7.20 with a 1 to the other guys .554 light, 8.08 with a 01. Wow, close race! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Oh Well, thats drag racing! <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />
Needless to say I loaded the Hot Rod on the trailer and head to Killeen to race at TAD this morning. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

Today I lost in the 1st round <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> Cut a .527 light (damn good for me), but broke out by 2/100ths. Bought back in and redlighted <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> the other car got almost a 2.5 sec headstart. The wait is agonizing, I couldn't take it! Usually I'm the one getting chased.

Re: Does any one Bracket Race on this site? Today at Bremerton raceway in Washington state I won in the first round for only the 3rd time this season (These Pro Bracket racers are GOOD!) Then I did not trust my car enough and lost in the second round.
TT #1: .542 13.63 at 105.9 Just put on SLP 85 mm MAF, and bogged like never before. So I put my stock descreened and ported MAF back on for the 2nd run.
TT #2: .488 13.257 at 108.63
Round #1: .583 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> 13.229 at 108.57 on a 13.27 dial, but the other guy red light <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Round #2: .515 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> 13.229 at 94.77 on a 13.25 dial not on the brakes hard enough, I had .034 off the line, I should have braked harder. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />
Oh well live and learn!

Just completed are last points race at RT66 finished 10th in points for the second time in street class any more mods and i have to move up to pro i run 13.02 in the heat and the cut off is 13.00 and i love speed oh well gotta do what we gotta do got a .500 light at tuesdays test and tune good for a plaque and a $50 certificate.

Usualy finish season in 2nd or 3rd place,have 2300 runs on my 94 Z.
Last year finished 2nd in points at SANAIR and at NAPIERVILLE dragways.
This year am in 1st place Street at SANAIR and 5th in Semi-Pro.
