Default Testing the new engine out...

I made a couple of passes yesterday at Carlsbad with the new 396ci setup. The good news is the car feels a lot quicker, I cut my best ever Carlsbad 60' (1.50), and the engine doesn't leak at all.

The bad news is my tranny will not shift in to 3rd under WOT, and my TP4400 is now way too big. My shift extension was ~6200rpm with 6800rpm shift points. To get the car in to 3rd gear I needed to let off the gas, wait a second, then get back on it after it shifted. Just playing around I ran 10.9124 though. I'm going to tighten the converter up 400rpm and have MMS rebuild the 4L60E in the next few weeks. I want to be able to drive to the track and cut 10.5 ETs.

Awesome 60' for Carlsbad Terry. Are you planning on changing convertors, also what was your mph on that 10.91? Good luck with your new setup, 10.4's won't be out of the question with a decent track and weather.

Terry,

If it were me I would shoot for a stall of no less than 4500 if your going to restall your converter and plan on running N/A.

Kinda like he did when he bashed people for stripping their cars.

If I have to run one some day I'll be the first to admit my car is now a ghetto POS.

hmmm I am curious to see how the 4L60E lives in your application. That 4400 stall should be fine in your car, I bet the tranny is giving you the *****.
Cheers,
Chris

Hey Terry ever think about running a 200-R4. can still keep your OD and will handle all the power you can throw at it. Better gear ratios to, and it my be lighter to but not sure.
