Sure, they'll help you. BUT, be sure to use some ~18" or longer (I'd go longer to be on the safe side) extensions or you'll throw your Ltrims WAAAAAAAAAY off and you'll run pig rich and slow. The extensions keep the oxygen rich outside air from coming into contact with the O2 sensors.

When you say you're going for the internally stock record what do you mean exactly? They have an internally stock class at that race or do you mean you're shooting to run low 11s internally stock? I think the LS1Tech internally stock record is 11.2-3. That would be damn near impossible at any weight with any setup with stock manifolds and without excellent weather.

Im shooting for low 10's on 175shot. Its just usually people going that fast have internal work.

I ran 11.1 on stock open manifolds and a 100% stock longblock a few years back in my 98 z28. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Actually I have a better idea. I have a mac Y-pipe I used on my z28. But it doesnt fit on my SS because the manifold length change. So I will just cut that up for extentions. I should cut so the openming is angled towards the ground right?

Default Anyone run open manifolds??

Ok a huge drag racing event for me is next week and i dont have enough time for headers. However I need to do something because i know my restrictive exhaust is killing me. I am going for stock internal record. Will open manifolds help me?
