Default weight vs ET/hp question....?

If i added 90lbs or so to the car with a ironblock motor, that should theoretically only cost me a .1, right? (100lbs/.1 ) But how much rwhp does it take to make up for that?

It takes more rwhp to make up a tenth in the 10's than it does in the 12's. And the 90lb addition should only cost a tenth by weight, but you also have to factor how much it will affect your car's ability to 60' as well.

Well i am trying to decipher whether or not the hp diff in a 408ci or 382ci is going to make up for the added weight. Its a daily driver but im not beyond doing the tubular Kmember to offset some of the weight.

I went the iron way and am still happy with the decision. If you do a .060" over on the block you can get 414ci with a 4" stroke. Definitely worth it. Although my car didn't initially 60' as well, there are plenty of ways to get that back. If you do a K-member, that alone should make up for about half of the difference.
