I don't see how having a car beside you changes your time?

I was at GLD back when Broadway Bob owned the track.
It was one of their famous olympics of dragracing specials.
He asked a guy with a blown chevy in a short wheelbase Opel I think it was,run against a Jet car.
Well the guy in the blown Opel got all distracted by the jets wake and heat and smashed the wall. Friggin awseome race to see! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Guy had big ***** to line up with a 5sec jet car in a what I think was a low 8sec car.He didn't get hurt and came back standing on his badly damaged car with arms up to the crowd.
Probably one of the coolest things I ever saw.
