Default back from the track fun day but problems

Pretty good day but ran into some problems

They ran brackets today as well as TNT so it was packed!

First pass tried to powershift 1-2 and hurt second gear Aborted the run

Car doesnt go into 2nd from neutral now but when I go 1-2 it does LOL!

Second pass (hotlapped) bogged HARD and went 12.0@121 on a 2.1 sixty. clutch was slipping after every shift.

Third hotlapped pass went 11.6@120mph 1.80 sixty but the car was hot and the clutch was really slipping every gear (even on 1-2)

Let the car cool for an hour and went back in the lanes.

Good burnout, staged and had the BEST launch ever with the new setup, hit every gear and was expecting a new best ever pass.

Got to the tower and there was a problem with the lights on that pass!!! NO TIMESLIP!! I was PISSED!

I normally spin on the launch and then lift and get in the gas again. That or I launch too low an rpm and bog.

That last run the car left violently and never spun or came back down. Probably a mid to low 1.6 sixty.

But I didnt get a damn timeslip for the run!

It was a good day though. 4.11's go in this week and I am going to see how the clutch reacts next weekend. (Might have been just too hot as I was hotlapping and went straight from the highway to tech and then right in the staging lanes. I am hoping that is why I couldnt get the car in second from neutral.

Dale ran a 12.87 @ 112.XX. (Everyone was down a couple mph for some reason) My slipping clutch was the main cause of my lower mph.

Street trim again today. Everything in the car including compressor and 5 liters mobil 1 LOL

Hoping the mechanical advantage from the gear swap will help my clutch. I dont want to pull it before the end of the season. I also hope the tranny holds to the end of the year. It is getting pretty crunchy

DA was around 1100 feet. Not bad for summer

Sounds like ya had a great time. You should have jumped in the bracket race.

To bad you didn't get the time slip on your good run. Looking forward to hearing about the improvement with the 4.10 gears.

nice runs Chris!
I understand about not getting a slip on a good run! I got screwed 2nd round of eliminations last night. I smoked the guy I was running, but no times because they shut-off the clocks b/c of fluid on the track and tried to stop our race but our tree had already started! So we had to re-run and he knew he'd better be on his game to beat me b/c of the 1st run and of course he did it and I lost!

Thanks Coach! Consistency is quite tough with these tires LOL! I had a .528 light though so that should count for something

Villain281H,

they had a technical problem with the lights in that lanes earlier closed it for about an hour. I think what happened on my run was that I had a bit of coolant overflow from my catchcan on the track. (Few drops)

The guy at the staging lanes saw it and must have walked through the beams before I was done and screwed up the run. He came up to me afterwards with the rag and said I had tranny fluid on the track. I said that is dexcool but thanks for letting me know LOL.

4.11s should help, going to try a few more things as well. 11.20s-11.30s aren't too far away on these tires at ~3600 pounds.
