Thanks to everyone in LA
Like it was mentioned above, I made one pass the night before...or I should say..part of a pass. The car hooked hard, and pulled skyward, I tried my best to pull it out, but I smacked hard, and broke my oil pan.
I can't thank some people enough for the help they offered to try and get my car running for the event. Madman..who's walked over and said "find an oil pan, and I'll have it running before morning!", and all of his crew. ALL of the SAM crew who pulled out their spare oil pan and offered it to me. JAVA, Tim, Coach, and many others who all offered tools, parts, a spare hand etc. Too many to name. In the end when the car went up on the jackstands, the more we looked the more damage we found, and it was a little much to try and fix, and then safely run the car. Bottom line the LA members, are great folks and we look forward to coming back to meet em again ( promise to try not to oil the track down next time! )
We pulled out a little early right as they started the awards. We wanted to get a little head start home. I was starting to get a little bummed out about breaking the car, and not being able to run. It was great meeting everyone, and I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet some others that were there. We'll catch ya next time.
Thanks again to everyone!
Larry
P.S.
There was ALOT of wheel standing at the track. BeaSST cracked his oil pan as well. There's alot lower ET lurking in that car, and as always Dave and Stephen's stuff not only ran good , but looked Awesome too!
George C. just impressive! He's got that car smoking. Haven't seen a soul mention the fact that his 382 ran a 10.1!!!! I'll let George share some of his '60 times with ya <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> .
The SAM car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> ... nuff said!
Sorry I didn't get to play...the way the track hooked, and the weather...I woulda hoped to been toy-ing with getting booted for lack of sufficient cage...but enuff coulda woulda shoulda out of me.
Thanks again for a super event!
