Wheelies are cool, but .....

George just likes all the attention he gets from doing big wheelies

If I feel like putting a sprint car direct drive setup in the car, I'll do it. Not that I feel the need to explain my actions any further, but... I decided to experiment with a 3-speed again, since it was a matter of chunking another decent bit of money into the powerglide to make it reliable (the 1.82 planetary is too weak for my heavy car). I've figured out how to make the TH400 consistent on the track, it's fun, and much more durable than the 'glide (without spending major amounts of money on it). I'm happy enough with the TH400 that it doesn't make sense at this point to spend another $700 on the powerglide.
In an all-out "bracket race" car, the 'glide may be a better choice. I built my car for me, not for anyone else, so I really don't give a **** what anyone else thinks of it.
The price of the Delay Box was $175 as well and Brendan/myself would like the money as soon as possible.

You really just need them as tight as you can go and still HOOK. If you can hook with them all tight, thats perfect. We really only need to make them loose in order to help weight transfer, to prevent spinning. No spin, then no additional weight transfer required.

Are they also counter-productive? Another big yep!
I'm working on mine to calm the launches down a bit. But, I was much more happy to have to drive through some big wheelstands this weekend rather than trying to get the car to stick (which I've been fighting with for awhile). Now that I've found how to hook it, I can figure out how to keep it reasonable and see if it helps the ET out some.
Sometimes it's just a trade-off...
