Default Need converter advice

First here is a rundown of the car:
93 RX7 about 2800lbs
2001 LS1 stock soon to have a TREX package with the goodies
NXL DP kit spraying a 120 shot
200-4r trans with transbrake
Right now I am running a SS3800E Converter
4.11 rear
26" ET Streets

My question is I have a buddy of mine with a old GTO talking **** cause we raced and he beat me in the 1/8th with a 7.16 to my 7.24.

I am probably going to keep the SS3800E for street driving unless a different one works out well but what converter should I go for?

I am only getting 1.66 short times with no wheel spin right now off the transbrake.

What converter should I get to stomp a mudhole in his ***!!

PY series? Help I am converter retarded!!

BTW not just a 1/8th mile converter but a good 1/4 converter if there is any difference.

Sorry if this should have gone in auto transmissions instead it deals with both so I stuck it here.

your 3800 is a small convertor for that peaky cam. yank pt4600 if you are willing to twist that cam to its potential of 7400 rpms. as for not pulling good 60' times, are you sure you are not spining on the rim? that convertor and motor at that raceweight you should easily be in the 1.59 or quicker.

Well a TP4400 will flash to like 5K or more on spray so not sure what's more important to you. I'd go 4400 for n/a and 4000 for compromise. 4400 on small shot is violent and more n/a focused but you can spray it.

Nope tire slips just a hair then hooks and goes. No spin on the rim. The track isnt the best in the world but I should still be in the low 1.6's I think even with the 3800 in the car now.

I dont want to spin the car to 7400 but 7000 no problem.

PSJ so a 4400 stall? with a TP series converter? Why the TP series I heard the PYE series was the way to go for racing

4400 TP Yank is a very good converter. But it's big for nitrous. It's great on motor. It's what many folks have used to run 10's n/a. My friend Magnus is running 1.47's and 11.2's with stock internals with his, and his car is ~2900 raceweight.
