What is required to run down to 11.0?

 

Same things as running an 11.99 (for NHRA) or 11.49 (IHRA). Six point roll, 5 point safey harness, jacket, plus all the other safety stuff - DS loop, etc. AND AN LS1 that kicks *** Nothing really changes until the magic 9.9999999. Than everything changes again - license, roll cage vice roll bar, chasis certification, etc, etc, etc,

to run 11.xx's you have to have a 6 point roll bar?

isnt a 4 point ok ?

 

You only need a 5 point roll bar for 11.99 - 10.99. SFI balancer, SFI bell housing scatter shield, 5 pt harness, helmet. No fire jacket until 10.99.

4 point roll bar isn't legal for anything....

 

IHRA requires a 6-point past 11.50, NHRA requires a 5-point past 12.00. Mike, just add the bar that crosses the middle of your upper arm and connects to the front door opening ... you'll be legal.

 

Not true on fire jacket; it's required whenever a roll bar is required. Also, you can use the 5-point rollbar to 10.00 provided you have no firewall, floor or frame modifications (full tubs or mini tubs are allowed, but no back-half jobs). SFI balancer as well as screw-in valve stems are required at 11.99 NHRA / 11.50 IHRA, but the trans blanket on autos isn't required until 10.99 or quicker. Also at 10.99 you need aftermarket axles without c-clips.
