First track run in 02 Z
Ran my new Z at the track this weekend and wanted to see if these numbers are good. I have the SLP lid and I've ported my stock MAF. The car is an M6. My best run on the street tires was a 13.44 at 106 mph. A friend let me borrow his slicks at the end of the night and I ran a 13.01 at 105 mph. I was impressed, just wanted to see if anyone else was....

Nothing like a good 13.DOH. Just so you know, the local street tire record for 6-speed LS1's is 12.30 @ 114.85. Of course, that was with all bolt-on's and a 1.95 short time on Eagle GA's.

Re: First track run in 02 Z
Dude, most of my track runs have been made at Little River. I don't plan on EVER going back to Prairie Hill as long as I live. I absolutely abhor that place. At any rate, can I assume that you are fairly new to the Waco scene (within 6 monhts)? If so, I'm looking forward to meeting you. If not, I apologize for not remembering you. I haven't decided yet whether the fact that you hadn't heard of me before you saw my post is a good thing or a bad thing, but either way, I'm sure if you ask around a bit, people will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about me. And, of course, about 95% of it is untrue. That said, I have been out of the game for a while, but am currently making a strong comeback. As soon as I get another rear-end under the car, I'll be on the prowl again. Right now, I'm on borrowed time with this 10-bolt. It makes noises you'd never even think possible. I'm afraid it won't last another semi-hard launch at the track nor very many more hard speed shifts. Anyway, I will be up and running soon. My exhuast should be complete by next week and I will likely show my face next Fri. and/or Sat. night to show it off. But, I will be extremely selective about when to race because of the rear. Anyway, take care. Looking forward to meeting you. E-mail, PM, post, or IM me anytime.
