I'd be curious to see how much a cromoly PA k member would weigh when used with Madman motormounts. This might be even lighter.

Re: K-members, which is lighter? 2000SILVERTA, yes you can do it in the garage. Pull off the shocks/uprights or support them with jack stands. Support the engine with jack stands. Remove the 8 motor mount bolts, rack and pinion, brake lines, and 6 retaining bolts. Put new one in put everything back in. You will have to fabricate something to hold line to the k-member at least were it goes from tube to hose.
