Drag radial question

Drag radial question I'm running 255/50/16 BFG Drag radials on my car, I've used them at two events and the tread pattern is completely gone. You can still slightly make out the tread on one tire but nothing on the other. My question is: When should they be replaced? I've heard that they work best this way, but I don't want to get half way through the GM EFI event at Englishtown on the 28th and have the belts start showing or lose a tire all together. Any help would be appreciated!

They should be fine worn like that. When you replace them, either get the new M/T ET Street Radials, or M&H now makes a 275/55-16 DR! It is 28" tall. Finally, another 16" drag radial size!

I cut 1.6 60's on my 255/50/16 BFG DR .
I run consistent 11's on these.Exact times depending on the amount of N2O I am spraying.
I have over 1,000miles on them and around 20 passes.
I run at 21psi at the track and no more than a 5 second burnout at 5,000rpm in first.You do NOT need to burn these tires down to get them sticky. Just clean them up and warm them a bit.
On the street I keep them from 27-30psi.
I still have a decent amount of tread showing.
