LAUNCH RPM?
I have a 98 ss with a m6. The car is all stock except for the loudmouth exhaust. I see all over the message board that people launch between 3000-5000 rpm's on street tires. Im not sure if the track I go to sucks or its just my kumho tires. If I launch at that high of a rpm then my tires will just sit there and smoke. Any comments?

Re: LAUNCH RPM?
with a completely stock car with the 3.42's i found that it is best to launch a bit more that 2000 rpms and let the car spin a bit while at part throttle. then right when it stops spinning floor it. if you go any lower and the car hooks good it will have a slight bog and acually run slower ETs. at least this is what i've seen in 3 different stock M6 cars that i have driven at the track and just since you have added a muffler yours might be different. try it both ways and see the difference.

Re: LAUNCH RPM?
1500-2000 rpms is where I launched on street tires. I tried higher and just spun. I think how people get away with higher rpm launches is by slipping the clutch and feathering the clutch a whole lot!
