Folks with manual brakes...
Anyway, anyone have any creative suggestions on the front brake line routing? I'm thinking of running the line to the passenger side along the back of the firewall (up underneath the cowl) and down the framerail (instead of that line running down across the steering rack). Then I would be an easier swap to a true manual rack if I ever go that route, and the brake line(s) would be tucked up more out of sight.
I'm trying to clean up the jumbled mess under the hood and make everything look a little neater...
the way they are bent around the stock k member is nuts, no way it'll go around the bmr k member very good.
I was looking into doing the aerospace kit Billingsley has, they have a street version with a bit thicker rotors. But am a bit scared it may not stop good or at all after a few hours of street driving. (not to mention I already yanked out the e brake)
I think I may just get the eradispeed rotors and keep the stock calipers to shed some weight. <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" />
I didn't know about the NHRA rule regarding the brake lines... I think I'll just route the line similar to stock so I don't have to worry about anything. I have a PA tubular k-member, but since I'll be fabbing up new brake lines from scratch, it shouldn't be a problem to make them work well/look nice with the tubular k-member.
George,
an exception to this rule is if the line is enclosed in a .125 wall thickness tube securely fastened to the frame/firewall.
Terry,
I'll check out that Aerospace kit some more for you.
Happy New Year Guys!
