Re: which gear with a 28" tire? Al, for whatever it's worth, 4th gear is good to around 134 MPH with 4.30's on 28" tires (accounting for ½" of growth). Soon we'll get some baseline numbers for your setup with the 3.42's, then we'll look at your trap speeds and go from there. I'm thinking 4.30's. I'll tell you this, no matter what you run with the 3.42's, your times will improve drastically with a gear upgrade. You absolutely won't regret it.
If you don't mind sacrificing a bit of gas mileage, gaining a few RPM's at highway cruising speeds, and a little less traction on the street, more gear is the way to go, especially on the almighty 6-speed cars. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Also, did you see my post about the 28" tire fitment? Here's the link, just in case. I'm getting some good feedback in there. We'll work it out to where they fit for sure with no rubbing on both of our cars, since even if I can't use your slicks this weekend, I'll still, in time, have to run 28's to finish the ¼-mile in 4th gear.

Re: which gear with a 28" tire? Hey Al, I would suggest getting the car to the track and seeing what kind of mph it puts down on the spray with the stock gears in it. I can't seem to remember even what the car ran as a bolt on cam'd car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
