Not long at all. I liked mine the first trip to the track.
It depends on your reflexes, your tranny shift time, and how fast your engine spins up (gearing effects this ALOT!) You'll just have to experiment. Start with 500 below and go from there. I ended up with mine at 400 below.

I have mine set at 5,800 rpm since I have not moved the rev-limiter. Works VERY well for me.

So say if your redline is at 6500, where would u set the shiftlight to come on at (providing that your a quick shifter?) I was looking at the Harlan Setup. Are those easy to set up?

It all depends on where you are peaking with the power, I peak around 6400-6500 I shift the car at 6500, I have the shift light set for like 6200, its easier at night because you get blinded by the shiftlight, in the day its harder to react sometimes, especially if you have a lot of gear or you spin and smack the limiter..
