....a new pepper mile-stone.
Since you have a T400 now, if I read that correctly, you have a 2.75 (optional) or 2.48 first gear not a 3.06 anymore right?
Just got back from the playoff party; Killer times with good freinds.... both my teams won their prospective play off games today! Now who to root for? The bad *** Black and Silver or the killer Defense/Gulf Coast Bucs? Decisions decisions....
Ahh well, figured I would answer some of y'alls queries.
PSJ, I have Yanks optional 3.05 first gear ratio TH400.
Terry99ta, I am using the Yank TP4200, same as the one that was in my 4L60E...well this one is specific to the TH400... but the stall is the same. I kind of wish I had a bit more stall... but hey, I cant hook now for ca-ca, more stall would prob only exacerbate the problem.
I am SERIOUSLY (because of the guru Larry Sample) considering switching over to Hoosiers instead of my Mickies....folks (Larry) tells me that they offer superior traction. What do y'all think?
H82BBad asked: What was the DA and your raceweight? I think it was around -2000 (so sayeth the weather man James Day )
Did the turbo 400 add weight? I dont really know. I find I can lift and install the TH400 easier than the 4L60E but the TH400 came with a new beefier cross member that has adjustble holes for the torque arm. The whole package may be heavier than the 4L60E, but I think its pretty much a wash. The scale out at HRP has been broken every time I go out there lately. So I have to stick with my answer.... I dont really know amigo.
"I know they suck down some more hp"
Well that's what I had heard too, but all of my runs previously since the install have been 125.5 or so, so I dont think it is eating up very much HP if any. Mike at Yank says it is more efficient because of the innards they use. *shrug* All I know is after the swap, my set up is MPHing better than ever. Is it the heads/cam? or is it the tranny? I dunno. I do know if I could get a killer launch I would be sitting in 10.5 territory. (dang I'm frustrated!)
What's is the stock first in a turbo 400?
Well as PSJ has already stated " a 2.75 (optional) or 2.48 first gear" is the norm... but Yank can upgrade that for you. Did me....
blitzkriegMS said: What RPM do you go thru the traps at with your combo?
Well with the 4L60E it was right at 6700, with the TH400 since I dont trust my tach, I cant tell you truthfully, but it's prob pretty close to that cause my shift light is lit up big time before I cross the line.
Dang I need a killer playback tach, but with all my toys I have bought lately, the cashola just aint there...
My shopping list for the pepper looks like this right now:
1. Hoosier 28x10x15 slicks
2. Hal adjustable shocks
3. Autometer playback tach.
4. Air shifter for my cheetah.
...sigh, it's only money right? LOL

might want to consider a air shifter
Yea, I am looking into it. But lordy they are expensive. About 300 bucks for the whole set up. Any one got an angle on a better price? I could sure use one...please?
RUQWIKR I'm wondering what I'm going to do when I nuke the 4L60E one of these days.
Try a new style of tranny... the good thing about the TH350 and TH400 is they are stronger and there is a lot of experiance out there in modding them... well that and they have more than proven themselves from a durability/perf stand point.(IMO)
What is your raceweight these days with the new set up?
Should be about the same.... 3200 or so. Maybe a bit higher as I have put on a pound or two.
Y'all take care, and keep the shiny side up.
