Where are you racing? What's the weather like; temperature, humidity? How many miles are on the car? Are you letting it shift itself, or are you trying to shift it (you should be letting it shift itself). Do you have a lid yet? We need to know more to help you out.

racing in south west missouri, 75, high humidity, 55k miles, let it shift itself, no lid at this time. the reason i am so confused is that my buddy has the same exact car and he is running 13.3's with the same mods.

Well, its key to remember that these cars respond very well to the simple things..lid, free mods, etc. If you are using a stock air lid that is part of your problem for sure...and do your free mods.

Sounds like you are dealing with some horrid weather...high humidty and heat will slow a car down several tenths and mph..what is your mph by the way?

do you have access to Autotap? I always suggest logging a few runs so you can check for problems like KR, big misfires, take a look at the shift extensions and make sure the car is shifting properly, etc...its hard to guess if there is a problem without some data to look at..

oh and also, on a 99 with 55K miles..

how old are you plugs and wires? how old is your fuel filter?

I'd start taking out variables like that by swapping in some NGK's and some good wires and putting in a new fuel filter, etc...when hunting for a possible problem I always knock out the simple variables/elimate the possbilities.

This time of year in SW missouri you are racing in some pretty bad weater. Get a lidm and wait till we get the ovtober cold fronts, your times shoul nicely reflect the weather change.

The best I have ran in my 02 with the mods in my sig is 14.0. I think it might be the weather here in west texas.
