Bolt on performance mods Looking to make a list of them all. Everything you can do to a car to make it faster in the quarter. Weight reduction doesnt need to be in here but stuff like short belt and front sway bar can. Figure it would be a great way to help out the new comers and also help me have everything done before i start swapping motors later on some day.

Y pipe
Remove front sway
Slicks and skinnies
Air box lid
LS6 manifold
AC short belt
Underdrive pullies
A arms and K member
Hal shocks
160 degree thermostat
torque converter or clutch
Rearend gears
manual steering rack

I know i am missing a ton more so anyone please help me.

-ram-air induction of some type (recommended if not WS6), i.e. Fast Toys Ram Air
-high-flow bellows
-lots of suspension stuff
-merge collectors
-true dual exhaust conversion
-hacked-up airbox for more airflow
-TB coolant bypass
-EGR mod
-electric water pump
-tuning via one of the 8 million methods we have now
-lighter driveshaft (careful not to sacrifice strength)

Also, FWIW, the A/C is driven by a separate belt than the other accessories. The "short belt" most of us refer to bypasses the power steering. You can just remove the A/C belt completely (if not the whole A/C system <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> ).

I want to get my whole car set up and run 11.3 if not lower as a bolton car and then the only thing left would be to drop my motor in that i am building. Re: Bolt on performance mods Dont worry there will be alot of weight coming out of the car for that. K member, A arms, manual rack, fiberglass hood, skinnies. I have the whole weight reduction list saved and whenever i do something on the list i delete it so it will weigh alot less. Got all summer to pull the funds and time together to go for my goal.

Re: Bolt on performance mods Not sure what it runs now. I had 2.73 gears and now i have 4.10s. Also going to put a PT 4400 converter and delete torque management. But with basically headers, loudmouth, lid, 160 thermo, and HPP3 along with ET streets i ran 13.0 So i am thinking with the gears and a torque converter i should pick up a whole bunch. And the car is a 2000 so LS1 intake and the older cam.

Re: Bolt on performance mods Thoes ET Streets may have been hurting rather than helping. ET Streets are way too much tire for 2.73s and stock 'verter IMO.
I was able too dead hook w/a street tire and 3.23s before the converter.

Re: Bolt on performance mods yep, i went 11.74 @ 114mph w/ 1.56 60ft. for bolt ons... That run was at GLD on a perfect day. i think i was right at or under sea level for DA and on a day that GLD was hooking GREAT.

That's it, oh yeah, weight reduction <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> My car weighs right in at about 3200 w/ me in it. I weight 165lbs. I have a lot of stuff out of the car, but there was so much more i could do too. LS6 intake, ASP pulley, MAF ends, ported TB, was going to do 4.10's/28" tire, tubular k-member/a-arms, suspension stuff, etc...(and the more I look at the list that you guys have put together, i realize how much more stuff there was i could have done... DAMN i wish i was still building that car)
You can get there. Just need to follow what the others have done and go from there. US41 would probably be a better track to hit your goals at, but you can always try everywhere else. I was well on my way before my shortblock blew(rod bolt). Good luck!

Re: Bolt on performance mods Thank you that helps me out alot. The thing i noticed was the 1.56 60ft with 3.23 gears. I have 4.10s so the car will 60ft pretty good. I admit with nittos i would of had a 12 second pass but it was the end of the season and i got an incredible deal on the ET streets so i went with them. I noticed that you had barely done any power mods it all seemed to be weight reduction and drivetrain. I like that there is alot of room after what you have accomplished. Bummer about your car. Im sure after going through that it would be really cool to make another run at it sort of like the Colonal is doing.
Re: Bolt on performance mods yeah, barely any power mods because not alot of money <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> all in the lightweight car, huge converter, and good traction/weather. that's pretty much how you get ahead in the bolt on game.

Re: Bolt on performance mods if you only went 13.0 with those mods, youre gonna need a lot of help to get you to 11.3s with boltons. i hear thats a good converter, but i still think youll be short unless your car weighs 2600 pounds <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
