Default Limitations of Street Tire Traction?

I'm just wondering what the lowest realistic expectation for an ET would be on street tires, regardless of engine/suspension setup. I am figuring that after a certain point, it doesn't matter how much power you have, there is a terminal ET and Trap speed for street tires. I have Firehawk SZ50 EPs on my car, stock 275 size with plenty of tread.

it depends how well you can walk the car on limited traction. I've personally had 1.7 60 foots on non-drag style radials. It's a matter of suspension set-up and knowing how to drive the car. Manual cars are a little bit tricky compared to an automatic, but with practice I've seen 1.9's happen. Again, knowing your set-up, not getting too greedy and practice will tell you where the limit is

Good luck!

well, i dont know what you consider realistic but theres mustangs out there that run 8's on bfg's
you just have to launch soft and make it up on the top end

By street tire, I am referring to street tires and not street legal drag radials. I'd like to know if I can hit 12.5 or better with my M6 WS6. A buddy of mine adamantly claims I'd be lucky to see 12.9-12.7 since I'd be spinning through most of the gears. I do have a pretty complete suspension, including a TQ arm, LCAs, QA1 shocks w/front springs, weld-in SFCs and a panhard rod. I'm putting down around 370-380 RWHP.

I am pretty sure I can AT LEAST hit 12.5, but I'd love to be below that, possibly even in high 11s. I'm no John Force, but I do know how to handle my car. I was able to cut a 13.1 @ 109 with only an SLP loudmouth and lid on the stock Goodyears.

Any suggestions as to what PSI to run my tires at, and what setting to use for my QA1s to possibly break 12.5?

i doubt you would hit 12.5 on slicks with the mods in your sig.
the less traction you have off the line, the more power you would need to make up for it on the top end.

I pulled a 1.85 60' at Commerce (resembles an ice-skating rink) friday night on some crap 17" street tires. It's all in the cars setup. You might have to ride your clutch a little but it's definately doable.

The list of mods in my sig is not complete.

I know A4s can do it, I want to hear from M6 people. It's a bit harder to properly launch an M6, even harder to cut sub-2.0 s times in the 60'.

I went 12.73 @ 113mph with a 2.1 60' on regular ole 17" firestone but a 2.1 is very common for average M6 drivers I hear. The 2.1 was the first time I ever took my car to the track, the next and the last time I went I couldnt better a 2.2. The second time when I got all the 2.2's I actually ran at another track in hot weather right after I had my tonsils removed and was sipping on my (perscribed) pint of liquid hydrocodone and taking lortabs. Yeah my reaction time suffered (A LOT!) and I kept hitting 2nd instead of 4th right before the traps around 110 mph. Very stupid of me I know but I was couped up for 2 weeks before that and really wanted to go racing. That night I counted 13 time slips and only one did I actually hit 4th gear on. True story man.

I went 11.7 @ 140 on stock tires (275 40 17 comp t/a)

2.095 60ft. Not much traction, but it was fun.

best part about running on true street tires. When you get them hooked up on a good run you get giddy with excitement (well, at least I do)!

I do too, with street tires its pretty much hit or miss untill you hook.
