Default Drag Radial launch help please

Running BFG drag raidials (275 50 15's) for the first time this weekend and need a few suggestions from some of you experenced M6 guys who have been there, done that, and broke it. I want to know what RPM to launch from with my stock gears and clutch. I never side step the clutch but get off it fast from the front side. BTW this is the car and mods in my sig. Thanks

I get low 1.8s and an occasional high 1.7 doing a rev the motor up and quick clutch slip.Kind of a vroom....vroom.....VROOM with a slip and slight wheelspin. This is with hot nittos at 17 psi.

i ran the same thing and was getting 1.90s launching at about 4 and keeping the throttle 50% or so until they hooked up. beware though. i bought those tires because i wanted the stock axle to last a bit longer then if i had put slicks on it. well it lasted like 5 times and then i broke off an axle shaft. replaced it and then the gears broke few days later.

I can belive you. Droping the clutch @ 4k is pretty harsh. I'm gonna try 2500 rpm with slight slip unless anyone else can tell me a better way

On my nittos I do a 8 to 10 sec burn out with 15psi in the tires cold, stage bring it up to about 3500rpm and do a controled dump and I spin a little then hook and have cut a lot of 1.8s in the 60ft. Thats my way till I get a 9" then I am getting ET Streets and a 2 step, then start launching at 5500RPM

What I do is figure out each time how the track is sticking. Experiment with leaving at different RPMs and see which one gives you just a bit of spin with no bog.

I have no finese at all, I just pick my launch RPM and side-step it.
