Weight lose? Door Braces? Filter?

Weight lose? Door Braces? Filter? What do the door braces weigh each? Is it true you have to cut them in half to remove?
Do you need to run any special kind of filter when switching to synthetic oil like Royal Purple?

Re: Weight lose? Door Braces? Filter? i was just told by 1 bas ls1 racing that EACH door brace waighs 60lbs,120lbs total.and they said they will NOT take them out for me,looks like i'll do it my self.i run a fram filter with royal purple. goodluck to ya

Some folks have been able to simply unbolt them and take them out, but I had to cut mine out in pieces. Not a keen idea unless you have a rollbar with doorbars in place, IMHO...

Filter? when i did my driver's side door bar i had to cut it up to get it out, PITA. for the passenger side i said to hell with it and just cut a hole in the fiberglass on the end of the door at the bottom to slide it out of. MUCH easier, and nobody will ever notice the hole unless you tell them. i had to modify some sockets to actually unbolt the bar

as for using Fram filters, i have seen enough research to steer me away from them.....

Taking them out is a PITA.
But yes you have to cut them in half (at least) to get them out.
