C-41 A/C DELETE option!
After removing my a/c. I'd like to get rid of the bulky a/c crap on the firewall.
after reading the March issue of GMHTP, they are talking about that project thunderchicken having a rare a/c delete option.
anyone know a gm part # for this heater box?
here is what it says:
" You'll remember that this 93 firebird was originally equipped with the rare C-41 A/C delete option, which triggered the installation of a single electric fan rather than the normal dual fans..."

I researched this same topic myself a while ago. Couldn`t get a straight answer on part #`s and the like. Just wish I could have ordered it from the factory with out A/C. Good luck with your hunt?

I think I have seen this on a rare 1LE car. From memory, the only difference was a small panel where the evaporator lines come out of the HVAC box. It really did not eliminate any of the box, just capped off the hole.
For what it is worth, we have modified a few HVAC boxes to eliminate the evaporator section entirely. This frees up a considerable amount of engine bay space, while still allowing for heater operation.
Hope this helps

sounds like it's better to have Jay modify the stock box.
I just don't know about removing the dash to get it out..
