vht trackbite use
I was trying to find some information on the trackbite and somehow couldn't find much. I have street tires and our track prep is normally less than outstanding. So the idea is to spray it ON THE TIRES. The hope is that, combined with whatever amount of VHT is already laying on the track, it should provide some decent traction.
Now,
1) I know that typically people heat up the tires, then spray some vht, then do another short burnout and then race. While this technique should work, how much worse is spraying vht on the tires in staging lanes? I don't really want to block the burn-out area, unless I must. What about making one pass and spraying right after that? Also, I heard some bikers spray vht on tires a night before the race. How much really to spray? Please share your experience.
2) Where do you get it? - places with the best prices and, if possible, some spraying systems. So far I only saw one-gallon coolant-type bottles.
Thanks for all opinions.

I've read about a car that had nozzles inside the wheel wells that could spray VHT <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
Guess this is a free post, dunno the answers to your questions <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> - dont have much experience with VHT other than trying to get it off my paint <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

Re: vht trackbite use
When I was going to Amarillo Dragway, I'd keep a squeeze bottle (cleaned out dishwashing detergent bottle) of VHT in my car (wrapped in a small towel). I'd pass it to a friend who would squirt two puddles in front of my rear tires after my short burnout. I'd pull in to the puddles, do a small hop, and then slowly pull to the line.
I'd see an in car spraying system as nothing but a pain in the butt. This stuff makes a sticky nasty mess, and it certainly wouldn't "spray" (more like dribble). Just buy a gallon from Jeg's ($20), pour some in to a smaller squeeze bottle, and have a friend dump some on the track when it's your turn (ask permission from the track folks in the staging area first, tho).

do you need to do a burnout right before/after you put it on or would it be ok to put it on in the staging lanes and do your burnout in the burnout box when you get there?

I used it on the street before. I did a large burnout in it(and only moved up a foot or two from the burn out) and took off and I had GREAT results! Almost 0 tire spin! and I even got to hit the nitrous shortly outa the whole.
As far as track use I doubt many tracks would let ya do that(unless its like the couple track around here that I run at). Try it! All they can do is tell ya not to do it again!

P.S. Make sure you keep it sealed up while you are traveling to and from the track. I left my bottle in my trunk for like a week(kinda forgot about it) and I began to smell something and I was like wtf, and I finally realized what it was. It does smell good though.
