How about some lightweight sheet metal painted black?...I rather have that than lexan. Might be cheaper as well...anyone agree?

I would buy a 1 piece panel to cover both sides,
cut out the t-bar and have a targa.

.063 aluminum would be enough I would think.

id like a street version. painted sheetmetal or aluminum would be fine too.
honestly i want a hard top instead of my t-tops.
for everyday driving.

How about making the top out of a light weight wood like bass or balsa? No molding issues to deal with. Could offer them sealed and finished black or other colors too etc to look like a hardtop or for the cheap racers unfinished.
