"?" on Rollbars, I know- not again
The rear bars mount on the back shelf above the gas tank. They're a little flexible on exactly where they will go at.
I wanted a custom setup on my cage, to compensate for my long legs and my abuse of Burger King Whoopers (6'4" 300lbs). I dont doubt those companies offer excellent kits, but the prices are pretty expensive. A good race shop should be able to set up anything you need. Plus do any custom work you would like (swing outs, extra crossbar etc.)
Just my .02 cents.
1)ALL parts are expensive-even the ricers pay more
2)there is absolutely zero, 0, nada, zilch, mandrel benders on island. Used to be ONE, yes, just one, but they got rid of it or it broke or some ****.
3)Although there is an abundance of welding shops here, there is severe lack of Chromoly; I was offered a buy-in for a bundle of Chromoly tubing, my share $1500, of which is half the MINIMUM cost to ship it here etc....
4)Because we race EVERY weekend, with the rare exception of rain, only two rainouts in the last 10 months, most of the crafty people are too involved between trying to make a living with the Cost of Living so high and then working on their own rides. For one of them to stop to help out often would be like Bill Gates dropping a hundred dollars and losing money if he didnt make any in the time it takes to pick it up.
It just sounds really nice to hear about the mainlands sticky tracks, fabrication specialists, and all that, oh yeah the fact that in damn near every state happens to be a LS1 specialist shop wher eyou can drive and pick up, or have made whatever you like. Sorry but paradise isnt all its cracked up to be(and to think Uncle Sam has sent me here twice now). I think I will just order the Jegs and suck up the $180 shipping for a $144 part!
