Re: The Dragon vs the Viper
Good Kill!
I think Vipers are over rated at drag racing, especially when it comes to "bang for the buck".
A guy at my track had a blue Viper with slicks and a 125 shot. He was running mid-low 11's. I can do that N/A in my SS
I love these LS1's!!

Usually sub par viper times, come from sub par drag racing experience. It definately is not the car, because some run well into the 11's at 120+ stock. Let alone with nitrous.

Re: The Dragon vs the Viper
Vipers don't launch well because their chassis is not suited to weight transfer. They also are not available with automatic transmissions. Other than that, they're fine for drag racing. Bang for the buck, there are much cheaper and faster platforms of course, but that's true even in comparison to F-bodies...
FWIW, I've personally run 11.90 @ 117.5 in a stock 2001 Viper with ET streets.

Nice race!
Viper's are definately no slouch, they can easily run into the 11's at 120+ in stock trim. Also keep in mind they have 3.08 gearing stock. Put some 4:10's in a Viper and see what happens
