struggling at night!
I have yet to run a decent time for my car at night, (my best being a 13.55 @ 102 in the dusk hours)
i can run the same identical 60 foots and be 3-4 tenths off ..
is this a engine issue or a tranny issue?

i have a 3.23 gear in the back
those times i listed above ... i ran a better 60' but lost almost 3 tenths down the track .... so that has me suspecting the tranny or engine....
my best 60' to date is a 2.063

I did the ET street thing, and got a Vig 3200 stall and Jet Hot Long tube headers. Made a huge difference, only wish I would have tracked down an LS6 intake too. That would help your top end power along with a ported TB.
You don't have to do everything at once, but everyone starts out where you are. Better make sure about the tranny first before anything else. Good luck.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
i bought at a 160* thermostat and im going to track down a Tranny Cooler tomorrow ...
at the line the tires sometimes chirp but otherwise they hook ... i just lose alot of time at the shifts
ill test out the tranny cooler.. and hope the problem is being cause by high tranny temps

It's all relative, now you will find yourself wanting to go quicker and looking for your next mod. Choose your mods carefully. There are some that do next to nothing. I would suggest your next mod be a cutout, easy 15 RWHP gain. The electronically controlled ones are really nice if you can afford an extra hondo plus installation. I personally have tried both the QTP & the McCord Power Plate and find the McCord far superior in quality, plus it's cheaper and the customer service is great. The cutout alone will probably give you a couple of tenths or so, and then if you can pick up an extra set of rims (check the for sale sections) for cheap, and put a pair of E.T. Streets or Hoosier QTPs on them for the track, they will allow you to leave harder and not spin. Of course it never ends. . .
The quicker you go, the quicker you want to go. Next big gain would be about a 3200 stall converter and trans cooler. This would take advantage of your sticky tires and drop your 60 foot times down to around 1.8 or a high 1.7x, which will be a very nice gain in E.T. (probably another 3 tenths or more) Then long tube headers. . .
and on and on. . . only you know when to stop the mods. You may not want to do any of the major bolt-on mods if you use the car as your only source of transportation. The cutout is still a slam dunk for you even if it is your only car. You'll never find a cheaper 15 RWHP.
Good luck, and above all HAVE FUN

i may have a tranny mount thats shot..... im getting all sorts of clunks when i hit bumps or when it downshifts ..
i ran a best of 13.86 at Nebraska (whatever their elevation is)
i launched at 1200-1400 rpms and hooked on my Eagle F1 GS-D3s so traction isnt a issue
i plan on getting my exhaust finished up ... (Kooks Headers & ypipe) as well as a 3200-3600 Converter ... 3.73 gears and some Drag Radials then......
im just pleased my times are now consistant

thanks for all the help & suggestions!!

Sounds like you're on the right track, when you get the converter installed, you will want to have the trans shop take a look at the issues and possibly do a rebuild before you completely destroy it. A 4L60E can be built to withstand a lot of HP if the right parts are installed correctly.
You might want to keep an eye out for a used LS6 intake on the for sale section, that's a real good mod and worth a good ten RWHP or more. Especially at the big end.
Good luck!!

Guess I should learn to read.
