First time out on the hoosiers Today I went to the track for the first time with my 12 bolt and my Hoosiers. The rear has 4:30's so that kind of screwed me because I had to shift to 5th. right before the traps and that also shows by my low mph. I would of got 4:10's but I bought the rear used from a guy that had a cam so thats why it has 4:30's. But I was very happy for running that time and still having to shift into 5th.

Re: First time out on the hoosiers Assuming a stock size tire, you should only be seeing ~6300rpm @ 112mph...
You shouldn't have to shift into 5th gear. If nothing else, you'd probably have better results by just riding out 4th gear, even if you touch the rev limiter briefly...
