Default mini tub

hey guys.....

1)to all those who paid someone to do there entire minitub setup, what did you pay? parts and labor.

2)can i expect any weight savings from this using aluminum tubs?

3)should i cut the rear of the wheel well opening at this time to fit a 29"+ tall tire that i expect i'll need to run for my future setup?

4)and finally, does anyone have pics of rolled fenders, on the rear of course?

thanks,
Dave

Dave, I'm in the process of doing this myself.

I've cut the fender big time in both front and back at the very bottom. The front goes straight downward now and the rear does the same. For both I did have to cut body. The front did suck, you cut a good chunk off the bottom and then bondo the hole full. meh.

For the back, You have to cut which will open up the interior back there. I just took vice grips and crimped it back together and kinda rolled it afterward to seal it.

You need to cut out that bump stop area in many cases... the ribbed area.

You need to cut in the front inside down by the LCA. Right now I am just trying to cut as much as possible without actually goign into the interior andt hen I plan to just take a big hammer and fold the interior in a bit.

got quotes today as a matter of fact. alston chassis says 700, give or take a few bucks. and A.P.E. said i could expect 700-1000 depending on who i go with. talked to chris there today for a while and decided when i get my new car in about 2 weeks, will have them duplicate the entire rear end and suspension setup they have on their soon to be 7 sec. drop top. so i guess i may end up being the first in your area to have this done? we'll see.

later,
Dave
